Sadie Family Old Vine Series T'Voedpad 2021

Made from vineyards first planted in 1887 and 1928, the 2021 Old Vine Series T Voetpad comes from the oldest, dry white wine vineyard in South Africa. Cerebral and delightfully waxy, it has freshness with sweet citrus tones that sway with aromas of raw honeycomb and dusty citrus blossom. Medium-bodied, the palate is energetic with plenty of life left in it and shows a delightful kiss of phenolic bitterness and soft tannic lift that makes this a silent juggernaut for food and wine pairings. Absolutely stellar!

The 2017 ‘T Voetpad Fermented is a mélange of white grape varieties planted between 1887 and 1920 and was aged in one old foudre. It has a very well defined bouquet with scents of white flower, black currant leaf, tangerine and a touch of marmalade. The taut, linear palate is well balanced with a crisp line of acidity, offering touches of peach skin and a hint of white pepper and fennel on the finish. Wonderful. (NM) (8/2018)
