Decanter (DCT) : 95 Points (2020)
The 2020 Artemis is a blend of Cabernet grapes sourced from growers in Napa's Atlas Peak District, Arcadia Vineyard in Coombsville, Battuello Vineyard in St. Helena, Rancho Chimiles in Wooden Valley. It includes some grapes from S.L.V. and FAY vineyards. This is about as fresh, pure, and classic as Napa Cabernet comes. Lavish aromas of ripe blackberry, blueberry and black cherry fruit just lift from the glass tinged with cedar, cassis and pipe tobacco. Plush and fruit-forward with cascading waves of blueberries, graham cracker crust, and candied violets that wash over the palate, buoyed by supple, long, satiny tannins and rounded acidity. Emerging loamy earth, coffee beans, and herbs on a long finish. Downright delicious. (JC) (4/2023)

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 93 Points (2020)
This plush, delicious and fruit-drenched wine pairs wonderful black fruit nuances of crème de cassis and black cherries with subtle, layered oak spices of new leather, tobacco and graphite, while a creamy texture makes the texture almost irresistible.

James Suckling (JS) : 93 Points (2020)
The violet lift to the nose is knitting well with the ripe blackberries, chocolate and sweet spices. Rich and full-bodied on the palate, with dense yet creamy tannins adhering to the dark fruit. Fleshy and polished, with a pretty finish. A solid effort for the vintage.

Jeb Dunnuck (JD) : 92 Points (2020)
The deep purple-hued 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis (there’s 1% Merlot in the blend) is classy stuff, offering ample plum and blackberry-like fruits, some scorched earth and tobacco, medium to full body, good mid-palate density, and ripe yet firm tannins. It’s incredibly well done in the vintage.

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 90 Points (2020)
In 2020, SLWC was owned by Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, so, in the midst of the fires, Marcus Notaro had immediate access to laboratory testing at Columbia Crest in Washington State—useful, as he found the labs in Sonoma and Napa Valley were backed up for weeks. While he reports that all the estate cabernet was in before the Glass Fire, he relied on this testing for smoke taint to confirm what purchased fruit to include from his Artemis growers. His 2020 has developed into a refined, elegant, red-fruited cabernet. The tannins have some barnyard notes and oak bitterness, but there’s a blueberry freshness as the fruit turns darker in the end. Robert Parker (RP) : 90 Points (2019)
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is a blend of 99.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and .5% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it springs forth with notes of black raspberries, redcurrant jelly and fresh blackberries, plus hints of dried mint, damp soil and crushed rocks. The medium to full-bodied palate gives up tons of juicy black and red berry flavors with great freshness and sturdy, grainy tannins, finishing earthy. (LPB) (11/2021)

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 92 Points (2018)
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is a very pretty wine that shows just how alluring the vintage is. Open-knit and silky, Artemis is so inviting today. Crushed flowers, hints of spice, leather, cedar and tobacco add attractive layers of nuance to this mid-weight, gracious Cabernet Sauvignon from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. (AG) (2/2021)

Wine Spectator (WS) : 91 Points (2018)
Well-built, with a focused core of red and black currant fruit, mixed with dark earth, sweet tobacco and singed vanilla notes.
