James Suckling (JS) : 96 Points (2016)
This has a distinctive nose with dark cherries and blackberries with stylishly cedary oak and a wealth of spiced currants. The palate has a very plush, powerful and well defined tannin structure, bathed in rich ripe-fruit flavor. 94% cabernet sauvignon and 6% cabernet franc

Robert Parker (RP) : 94 Points (2016)
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon has a dark, opaque color and a concentrated core of ripe and dusty fruits on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, the wine's dusty features continue in the mouth, with soft black and blue fruits that are chewy and grippy on the palate. The wine finishes long and with fewer tannins than I remember from previous years. It's a lovely wine and will cellar well for years to come. 6,427 cases were made.

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 94 Points (2016)
A melding of warm Red Mountain fruit and sumptuous, expressive oak, this has dense, dark fig and carob scents that combine with aromas of clove, cinnamon stick and baking spices. All of these notes effortlessly integrate into the wine’s elegant texture, the flavors carried on tobacco- and cedar-scented tannins. A beautiful performance; for a festive roast beef dinner. (

Wine Spectator (WS) : 92 Points (2016)
Harmonious and elegantly structured, with expressive blackberry, black olive and toasted spice flavors that build richness toward refined tannins. Drink now through 2025.

Decanter (DCT) : 92 Points (2015)
Ripe, juicy and elegant with notes of cassis, cigar, sage, oregano and cigar box. Spicy, intense and excellent with food.

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 92 Points (2013)
Cabernet Sauvignon (88%) takes the lead on this wine, with the balance Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah. Aromas of blackberry, blue fruit, flowers and barrel spice are followed by pitch-black-fruit flavors. Lightly chewy tannins provide some heft but have room to broaden. (5/2017)

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 92 Points (2012)
Nov 2015 - Bright medium ruby. Deep aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, spices and licorice, plus a subtle suggestion of game. Plush, generous and sweet, offering lovely depth to the dark berry and spice flavors. Spreads out horizontally to saturate the palate on the very long, fresh back end, which features fine-grained tannins and lovely floral lift. Very classy juice, already sexy but with the concentration and structure to age.-- Stephen Tanzer

Jancis Robinson (JR) : 17 Points (2012)
May 2015 - Rich, chewy and dense. Intensely fruity, and there’s some floral character too. Impressive, lengthy, core fruit. Quite warm on the finish. (RH)

A deep purple-ruby color. Nice complexity of aromas with red fruits, blackberry liqueur, touches of incense, and notes of mint and cedar sap. The palate a continuation of the nose, suave and intense, with a nice mineral tension characteristic of great limestone terroirs. A fresh finish and an extended length which reveals a great aging aptitude.
