This has a distinctive nose with dark cherries and blackberries with stylishly cedary oak and a wealth of spiced currants. The palate has a very plush, powerful and well defined tannin structure, bathed in rich ripe-fruit flavor. 94% cabernet sauvignon and 6% cabernet franc

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon has a dark, opaque color and a concentrated core of ripe and dusty fruits on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, the wine's dusty features continue in the mouth, with soft black and blue fruits that are chewy and grippy on the palate. The wine finishes long and with fewer tannins than I remember from previous years. It's a lovely wine and will cellar well for years to come. 6,427 cases were made.

All of these notes effortlessly integrate into the wine’s elegant texture, the flavors carried on tobacco- and cedar-scented tannins. A beautiful performance; for a festive roast beef dinner. (

Cabernet Sauvignon (88%) takes the lead on this wine, with the balance Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah. Aromas of blackberry, blue fruit, flowers and barrel spice are followed by pitch-black-fruit flavors. Lightly chewy tannins provide some heft but have room to broaden. (5/2017)

Nov 2015 - Bright medium ruby. Deep aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, spices and licorice, plus a subtle suggestion of game. Plush, generous and sweet, offering lovely depth to the dark berry and spice flavors. Spreads out horizontally to saturate the palate on the very long, fresh back end, which features fine-grained tannins and lovely floral lift. Very classy juice, already sexy but with the concentration and structure to age.-- Stephen Tanzer
