Decanter (DCT) : 96 Points (2021)

Restrained, elegant and complex, with no hint of tropical fruit but relevant citrus and white fruit notes in this cool-climate Chardonnay. Oak integration is stunning and the wine shows personality, vibrancy, mouthwatering acidity and a precise, long finish.

James Suckling (JS) : 95 Points (2021)

This is such a beautifully crafted Adelaide Hills chardonnay! Complex, flinty nose with notes of toasted baguette, lime zest, Asian pear and fresh pineapple. I love the underplayed power on the very focused, medium-bodied palate. Fine tannins underline the long and intense wet-stone finish.

Robert Parker (RP) : 93 Points (2016)

The 2016 M3 Chardonnay kicks off with trace aromas of struck match and roasted cashew, then opens into grilled pineapple and peach. It's medium to full-bodied, providing a generous mid-palate of fruit, then tightens up and refocuses on the citrus-laden finish. It's one of the best M3 Chards I can recall tasting, showing lovely balance and complexity.

James Halliday (JH) : 97 Points (2015)

M3 now comes from selected sites over the Adelaide Hills, not from the vineyard previously called M3. Pale straw-green; it may be autosuggestion, but this has great freshness, vibrancy and finesse, the flavours pitched halfway between white peach/stone fruit on the one hand, grapefruit/citrus on the other. Obviously fermented in French oak, but is not obviously oaky.

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 92 Points (2015)

The M3 Chardonnay has evolved into a tight, refined style. It's medium-bodied and tart, with crisp acids that frame juicy citrus flavors. A subtle note of struck match marks the nose, alongside hints of orange zest.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 91 Points (2015)

Strikes a balance between vibrant, crisp pineapple and lemon flavors and a warm, toasty cedar note. Harmonious and intense on the finish.Â

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 90 Points (2015)

A pale, earthy Chardonnay, this is zipped up behind its flinty reduction, needing time in a decanter to show its juicy lemon and lemongrass notes.
