egion and Vineyards
SOLO is born exclusively from the Silverado Vineyard, located in the prestigious Stags Leap District AVA of Napa Valley. First planted to Cabernet Sauvignon in 1968, it was only the fourth vineyard to do so in the district, marking it as one of the historical sites of Napa’s modern wine era. Over two decades of field selection and vine development led to the identification of a new and distinctive clone, now known as the Disney-Silverado Heritage Clone—one of only three clones to receive official Heritage status from UC Davis, and the only one from Stags Leap.
The vineyard’s steep, shale-rich slopes and west-facing exposure receive abundant afternoon sunlight, ideal for ripening Cabernet to full phenolic maturity. The thin, well-drained soils stress the vines just enough to concentrate flavors and structure while retaining the natural freshness emblematic of Stags Leap. This precise terroir contributes depth, minerality, and a signature velvety tannic profile to the finished wine.
Winemaking
SOLO 2015 is composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, exclusively from the Disney-Silverado clone grown on the estate vineyard. Harvested between September 9 and 11, 2015, the fruit reached an average 24.8° Brix, reflecting ideal ripeness. The must underwent 21 days of maceration, enabling optimal extraction of color, tannins, and aromatic complexity.
The wine was aged for 17 months in oak barrels, of which 50% were new French oak. The full oak profile consisted of 89% French and 11% American oak, providing a framework of spice and vanilla without overshadowing the varietal purity. Bottled unfiltered and unfined, SOLO 2015 was released at 14.3% alcohol, offering both power and grace in balance. Production was limited to just 1,316 cases, underscoring its rarity and handcrafted nature.

The SOLO label was created to honor the Disney-Silverado Heritage Clone, a unique genetic selection recognized by the University of California, Davis as one of just three official Heritage Cabernet Sauvignon clones. This exclusive clone—developed entirely on the Silverado property—is the only one from the Stags Leap District to earn such distinction, making SOLO a rare expression of both clonal history and terroir.
