Region and Vineyards
Dalla Valle Vineyards is located in the esteemed Napa Valley, specifically in the Oakville appellation. This region benefits from a Mediterranean climate, ideal for viticulture, with warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters. The vineyards of Dalla Valle are situated at 150 meters above sea level on southeastern slopes, providing excellent sun exposure and benefiting from the cooling breezes of the Pacific Ocean.
The soil in the region is primarily composed of volcanic and alluvial terroirs, offering optimal natural drainage and a rich mineral content that contributes to the complexity of the wines. The vines are cultivated using sustainable practices, ensuring the health of the soil and the quality of the grapes.
Winemaking
The 2017 Maya is a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are meticulously hand-harvested and sorted to ensure only the finest quality. After fermentation at controlled temperatures, the wine is aged for 22 months in 75% new French oak barrels. This careful aging process enhances the wine's complexity, imparting a refined texture and concentrated fruit intensity.
