Robert Parker (RP) : 97 Points (2015)
The 2015 Champoux Vineyard is stunning, busting from the glass with a precocious bouquet of ripe cherries, minty blackberries, violets and anise. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and almost voluptuous, with velvety, melting tannins that frame a succulent core of beautifully delineated fruit. The finish is long and fragrant. Infinitely seductive and exquisitely balanced, I struggle to remember an Andrew Will Champoux that was quite this delicious straight out of the gates, yet the wine clearly has the potential to evolve for two decades. The 2015 is a blend of 51% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot.

Jeb Dunnuck (JD) : 94 Points (2014)
A little more fresh and lively than the Ciel du Cheval, the 2014 Champoux has sensational purity in its lifted bouquet of cassis, black raspberries, violets and spring flowers. There's a touch of graphite that develops with time in the glass, and the wine has fine, polished tannin and an elegant, silky texture. It doesn't have the heft of the Ciel du Cheval but shines for its purity and elegance. Rating: 94+

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 92 Points (2014)
Andrew Will’s classic wine from Champoux, a blend of merlot with cabernet sauvignon, franc and malbec, is showing its age with a tawny sheen. Tobacco, horsehide, dried orange peel and plum scent the mouthfilling dried-fig sweetness. Its succulent texture will pair well with braised beef.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 92 Points (2014)
Combines a refined structure with a rich and polished texture, showing red currant, orange zest and dark chocolate notes that lead to firm but ripe tannins. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Best from 2018 through 2023.

James Suckling (JS) : 94 Points (2013)
Complex aromas and flavors of blackberries and blueberries with hints of coffee beans and chocolate. Full-bodied, layered and flavorful. Some black-olive undertones. (5/2018)

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 93 Points (2013)
Bright dark ruby. High-pitched aromas of blackberry, violet, sweet spices and bitter chocolate. Superconcentrated and suave, showing superb acidity and energy and a sexy oak component to the broad flavors of sweet dark berries and mocha. Finishes seamless and very long, with serious ripe, horizontal tannins and a late hint of white chocolate. All of these wines get around 40% new oak, with Taransaud being Chris Camarda's preferred barrel supplier. (ST) (11/2015)

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 92 Points (2013)
Cabernet Sauvignon makes up a little over three-quarters of this blend, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot rounding it out. The aromas start out brooding, with notes of pencil lead, black currant, flowers and green herb. The palate is focused, dense and textured, bringing an exquisite sense of balance along with a lengthy finish. *Cellar Selection* (SS) (2/2017)

Decanter (DCT) : 93 Points (2012)
From the Champoux Vineyard planted to 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, this Médoc blend exhibits the expected cassis nose with tobacco-leaf hints and marvellous depth and structure on the palate. Still fresh, with complexity to come. Drinking Window 2018-2028. (SS) (10/2017)
