Robert Parker (RP) : 92 Points (2016)
Seresin's 2016 Sauvignon Blanc includes 5% Sémillon and 17% was fermented and aged in older French oak barriques to add complexity and interest. The wine offers a leafy component on the nose that recalls tomato or currant leaves, plus plenty of citrusy fruit and hints of red berries or pink grapefruit. The oak is subtle, but if it is noticeable, it's in the silky texture on the medium-bodied palate and the finesse-filled, lingering finish.

There's a honeyed overtone to the pear and citrus flavors, with plenty of spice and floral honeysuckle highlights on the crisp finish. Drink now. 11,000 cases made.

Tasted Nov 2017 - Pea shoot, lime, lemon curd. Superb flavour clarity, without any of the pungent greeness that can afflict this style. Smooth, rich, refreshing, complex and textured. Thoughtful and engaging – not just your usual fruit-bomb style. Bravo! (RH)

Once again a portion of barrel matured wine and a little semillon added to the mix, this has a sophisticated nose with dried flowers, meadow hay and citrus fruits, gently complex and enticing. The palate delivers a powerful, driving citrus-focused impression, dry and long, handy structure too. Drink now and up to 2020.

May 2016 by Stephen Tanzer - Bright, pale lemon-yellow. Reticent, cool but varietally expressive aromas of lemon, menthol and spices. Broad, salty and bone-dry, with strong underlying acidity to its citrus and white peach flavors. In an uncompromising slightly chalky style and yet this wine shows an umami quality that should make it very flexible at the dinner table. A touch of sulfidey reduction contributes complexity. Finishes dusty and persistent. No rush to drink this. (A second bottle of equal quality showed no reduction and strong mid-palate yellow fruit flavors. While it was a bit less tactile, it was very smooth, fresh and long.)
