Robert Parker (RP) : 92+ Points (2017)
The 2017 Chardonnay Arthur was aged 10 months in about 15% new oak and has pure aromas of golden apples, quince, toast, honey, almonds and notions of elderflower, hay and chamomile. The light to medium-bodied palate is silky and delicate with mouthwatering acidity and a long, lively finish. This restrained, elegant Chardonnay will benefit from another year in bottle.

Decanter (DCT) : 92 Points (2017)
Classically elegant. Racier even than many of the Drouhin offerings from Burgundy, this opens with bright, pure citrus fruit. The complexity develops with time, as the limited cask maturation (10 months, 15% new) reveals itself. Fermented half in cask half in tank, the texture is silky, lithe and crisp, but there is still enough substance to satisfy. Drinking Window 2020 - 2030

Wine Spectator (WS) : 91 Points (2017)
Offers elegant complexity, with a silky texture, plus floral, pear, lemon and blanched almond accents that glide toward a vibrant finish. Drink now through 2020.

James Suckling (JS) : 94 Points (2016)
Impressive, flinty complexity with yellow citrus fruit and lighter peach aromas, leading to a palate that has a punchy array of vibrant peach flavor and a taut citrus thread to close. Complex and polished chardonnay here. (11/2018)

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 90 Points (2016)
Quite distinct from the winery's similarly priced RoseRock Chardonnay, this is more precise and firm, with crisp apple and spice flavors. Oak aging has lent a rather dominant bourbon barrel scent, which comes across on the palate as liquorous. It finishes on a gentle, buttery note. (PG) (8/2018)

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 93 Points (2015)
As elegant a wine as Oregon can produce, this 2015 reserve is partly fermented in barrel, partly in tank, then blended in a quiet, delicate harmony; the oak notes—nutmeg, vanilla—are recessed, oblique, allowing the round, supple pear fruit to assume a central role. The balance here is impressive, the wine drinkable now and poised for a long cellar life. (8/2017)

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 92 Points (2015)
Light gold. Intense, mineral-accented citrus and orchard fruits on the nose, complicated by hints of buttered toast and honeysuckle. Lush and creamy but focused as well, offering concentrated dried pear and peach flavors and a touch of bitter lemon pith. Turns firmer on the incisive finish, which repeats the citrus and mineral notes and leaves a hint of chamomile behind. (JR) (2/2018)

Hess Lion Tamer Blend 2018

The name “Lion Tamer” has become a nickname for Malbec because we use it as our tannin tamer. Much like a Lion Tamer who uses a deft hand to soothe powerful, instinctive animals, Winemaker Dave Guffy uses Malbec to soothe powerful tannins. This red blend brings all the roar of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah, and when blended with Malbec, produces a big, lush wine that finishes with smooth and tamed round tannins.

A postcard from Piedmont to express the love for our land, an affection that Giuseppe Rivetti, known as “Pin”, taught his sons Carlo, Bruno and Giorgio. The synergy between Barbera and Nebbiolo results in a bouquet of fruit, flowers, and spices. The balance between tannins and acidity makes this wine a perfect companion for food.
