The complex style is nicely dialed-in here, offering a fresh array of grilled lemon and peach with some gently nutty aromas, as well as a lime-curd edge. Really fresh. The palate has fleshy and smooth texture with praline-like flavors sitting in a fresh citrus and peach core. Drink now.

Robert Parker (RP) : 89 Points (2017)
Struck flint and hints of woodsmoke appear on the nose of the 2017 Section 94, a Sauvignon Blanc fermented in barrel with indigenous yeasts. This is a tight, compact vintage for this bottling, with tightly coiled grapefruit flavors partially concealed by notions of fresh greens and crushed stone. It's crisp and medium-bodied, with a citrusy finish. It's a solid effort, but compared to other recent Section 94s, it leaves me wanting more.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 94 Points (2016)
Impressively deep, with whiffs of smoke, white pepper, honeycomb and orange blossom that melt into apricot, dried mango and lemon curd flavors. Matcha green tea and nutmeg details linger on the long, expressive finish, with a delicate thread of acidity weaving in and out, keeping the flavors fresh. (MW) (7/2019)

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 91 Points (2016)
Bright, light yellow. Sexy leesy funkiness to the aromas of ripe peach, fresh herbs and stony minerality, plus a touch of lemon peel with air. Quite dry and tactile, with penetrating, distinctly saline mineral acidity currently keeping the wine's primary fruit flavors under wraps; still some undissolved CO2. A fascinating extract-rich Sauvignon, at once fine-grained, salty and very long. Strong minerality and lemony cut reminded me a bit of Burgundy. Extremely young wine with terrific inner-mouth tension. and a superb tactile, rising finish. Not at all about fruit in the early going. (ST) (5/2016)

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 91 Points (2013)
From a couple of pioneers of the style, this barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc shows aggressive fumé-style aromas of smoky struck flint. Grilled melon and fig flavors take hold of the silky midpalate, followed by lingering grapefruit on the finish. True to its usual impressive standard.

On the nose the Malbec has floral scents of violets and lavender, along with the freshness of its natural acidity. The Petit Verdot lends the aromas of the ripe black berry fruits. The palate offers vanilla and toasted flavours; in the mouth it is sweet, silky and big. It is a wine of a good balance and strong tannins.

Le Petit Clos is a different interpretation of the Clos Apalta Terroir, using the mastery of blending that is the heart of the winemaking philosophy from the Domaines Bournet - Lapostolle.  Winter 2014 was considered as rainy in Apalta, with higher temperature compared to the previous season, moving from a minimum of 4,5C to 14.7 C maximum.  Spring 2014 had moderate temerapture allowing for good bud break and blooming.
