James Suckling (JS) : 92 Points (2020)
A fresh, creamy-textured white with lots of freshness and lovely pear and green-apple character. Some white pineapple. It’s medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a flavorful finish. Less herbs and more clean, ripe fruit.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 93 Points (2019)
Vibrant and expressive, with bold Key lime, passion fruit and tangerine flavors that are succulent and show off details of litsea, lemon verbena and makrut lime leaf, accented by a vibrant thread of acidity.

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 90 Points (2019)
This vintage of Marlborough’s most famous label is a balanced, refreshing drop. Bright aromas of grapefruit, peaches n’ cream, lemongrass and tomato leaf lead to a palate that crunches with acidity while also being slippery and juicy-fruited. A summer sipper with or without food.

Robert Parker (RP) : 92 Points (2018)
In another tricky vintage, the team at Cloudy Bay has turned out one of their best recent efforts. The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc boasts notes of gooseberries and pineapple up front, and shows lovely harmony and roundness on the palate. It's medium-bodied and easy to drink, with hints of nectarine and pink grapefruit joining in on the creamy-textured palate and long, silky finish.

Decanter (DCT) : 91 Points (2018)
New Zealand's most famous Sauvignon Blanc debuted in 1985 and its 34th vintage is an elegant yet juicy example. The warmth of the season has brought ripe tropical fruit flavours and more breadth to the mid-palate although the 'ripe yet green' characteristics of Marlborough are still in evidence, with subtle elderflower and gooseberry adding piquancy. It has a lovely acid balance on the medium-length finish. (RG) (10/2018)

Bob Campbell MW (BC) : 94 Points (2017)
It's no surprise to discover that this is one of the better examples of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from what was a fairly challenging vintage. Unlike many of its contemporaries, this wine does not have a hard acidity, although it is fair to say that the flavour profile has shifted slightly toward the cooler end of the spectrum with lime, grapefruit, lemongrass and red capsicum flavours. Good purity and power with a lengthy finish. (10/2017)

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 90 Points (2016)
Showing some restraint in its passion-fruit scents, grapefruit flavors and gentle acidity, this is the style that originally set the bar for Marlborough sauvignon blanc. Tart, clean and firm, it’s a wine that will please a lot of white-wine drinkers.

Jancis Robinson (JR) : 16.5 Points (2016)
Tasted Nov 2016 - Grapefruit, citrus and tastes bone dry. A bit lean overall. Not sure it is worth the premium though it is more persistent than some. (JH)
