Wine Spectator (WS) : 95 Points (2017)
Impressively graceful, moving confidently across the palate. The firm but well-integrated acidity links notes of blanched almond, white raspberry, clementine, elderflower and cardamom. Nearly seamless, but this should develop further and show even more in a few years. Best from 2022 through 2036.

Robert Parker (RP) : 93 Points (2017)
A gentle giant with a quiet nose that is shy yet possesses a pure minerality to the heart of its core, the 2017 Palladius has expressive and dusty citrus tones, with a wet river rock stoniness. The palate is balanced with a firm acidic edge and focus that is truly mindboggling. Medium-bodied with a long saline finish, the perplexing expression lingers with lemon oil, bee pollen and fine chalky powder. The acidity and balance in this wine are going to ensure that it possesses the ability to live on for decades in your cellar. Be patient. It's good now but it will get better in time.Rating:93(+?)

Eben Sadie rates this white blend as the best of his current releases. Made with ten different cultivars and dipping below 14% alcohol for the first time, it’s an orchestra rather than a solo instrument. Elegant and refined, with no wood at all, this is an harmonious cuvée with beeswax, tarte tatin, orange zest and pear flavours. 2019-24.

Decanter (DCT) : 94 Points (2016)
This inspired wine is the product of 10 different varieties grown on three main soil types in the Paardeberg: granite, gravel & sandstone. The grapes are pressed and run off into clay amphorae & concrete eggs, where they are vinified and then aged for 12 months. The wine then spends another 12 months in old oak foudres. It creates a savoury, pithy, waxy and saline blend, with vibrant acidity and great balance. There's some textural grip to the green apple, honey and pink grapefruit palate. A beautiful wine, a blend of Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Colombar, Palomino, Semillon, Roussanne, Verdelho, Clairette Blanche and Viognier.

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 93 Points (2016)
The 2016 Palladius comes from 17 different vineyards and was fermented in clay amphora and concrete egg and aged for first year, then racked and aged for additional year in old foudres prior to bottling. It has a well defined bouquet, quite neutral in style but blossoming with aeration to reveal hints of lanolin and melted candle wax. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, touches of curry leaf and spice and orange peel. A long tail on the finish of white pepper and sage completes this wonderful Palladius. (NM) (8/2018)

Honeyed, creamy nose that gives the impression of satin-smooth texture somehow. A totally flattering and intriguing wine that is clean as a whistle and would stand up to any fine white wine.
