This has a beautiful fresh blackberry and mineral character on the nose. Some smoked meat as well. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and a persistent finish that lasts for minutes. Better in 2020.

Massolino's 2012 Barolo Parussi is a dark and savory expression that offers black-fruit intensity. Fruit is from the Castiglione Falletto township (as opposed to Serralunga d'Alba where the winery is based). In this vintage, you could almost mistake it for Serralunga d'Alba, given the power and textural richness it offers. Smoke and tobacco converge on the finish.

This bold wine is yet another impressive 2010 Barolo from Massolino. Powerfully structured, it delivers succulent black cherry flavors layered with black pepper, sage, tobacco, licorice, balsamic notes and grilled herbs. Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 92 Points (2010)

Freshly cut flowers, red berries, cinnamon and mint meld together in the 2010 Barolo Parussi. It's interesting to taste the Parussi next to the other wines in the range, as it is the only wine here made from Castiglione Falletto fruit. The 2010 has lovely aromatic complexity but it remains a bit compact and essentially medium in body. (AG) (1/2014)
