A modern style of Australian red that also respects the tradition of regional and varietal blending to make a more rounded wine.

The wine shows intense plum fruit sweetness from the Shiraz with dark berry and chocolate characters.

The Cabernet component adds to the length and fullness of the wine.

This has a composed, compact and soulful mid-weight style to it, plenty of black fruits and dark stony aromas, dried woody spices too. The palate has a dark essence-like spiced plum and dark cherry core, tannins roll smooth, even and purposeful, smoothly groomed, holds freshness and delivers incredible depth of flavor . Long and strong.

Medium garnet-purple in color, the 2011 Winemaker’s Selection Vat 8 Shiraz Cabernet shows an expressive nose of warm cassis, crushed plums and blackberry preserves with nuances of cinnamon toast and Chinese five spice. Medium-bodied and tautly fruited in the mouth, it fills the palate with youthful black fruit and finely grained tannins before finishing long and refreshing. Drink it now to 2020+.
