This Vintage Port is bottled unfiltered after maturing for two years in large Portuguese oak vats.

When young they are usually a very dark ruby in colour almost opaque with intense aromas of very ripe fruit.

Combining in highly complex wines that have great longevity.

Located on the right bank of the Douro River, between the towns of Régua and Pinhão, Quinta do Crasto is a property of 130 hectares, 70 of which are planted with vines. Robert Parker (RP) : 93 Points (2017)
The 2017 Vintage Port is a field blend with 105 grams of sugar, a bit of an uptick over the 2016. This was originally seen unbottled, but it has had over six months in bottle now. When originally seen, this seemed a bit understated for a 2017. It still seems to be, at least on opening, but it is also showing better fruit and better support for the fruit, and as it airs out over several days, it becomes far more impressive after an insipid beginning. It adds a layer of depth to the 2015 LBV this issue and more intensity of flavor—it's quite delicious, and the concentrated fruit is more lifted. It will age better too. Today, the main differences are stylistic or due to the different methods of vinification. This, for one thing, is much younger. That said, when both have been open for three days, this finally begins to show its stuff and separate from the LBV more dramatically. Overall, you can't go wrong at the price. In fact, it's a nice bargain.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 95 Points (2015)
This is really engaging, with a mix of boysenberry, açaí berry and blackberry fruit that has lots of energy, carried by brambly grip and backed by licorice snap, spearmint and ganache notes on the finish. Best from 2028 through 2045. 1,500 cases made.

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 90 Points (2015)
The wine has a jammy character that gives it concentration. It is sweet although with enough acidity. The blackberry jelly flavors are firmed out with some fine tannins, certainly plenty to promise good aging. Drink from 2025.
