Located on the right bank of the Douro River, between the towns of Régua and Pinhão, Quinta do Crasto is a property of 130 hectares, 70 of which are planted with vines. Nestled on a privileged location in the Douro Demarcated Region, Quinta do Crasto has belonged to the family of Leonor and Jorge Roquette for over a century and like all the great properties of the Douro it dates back to ancient times - the name "Crasto" is derived from the Latin word "castrum",… Read more

Robert Parker (RP) : 91+ Points (2013)
The 2013 Late Bottled Vintage Port is a field blend with 116 grams of residual sugar. It is a traditional, unfiltered LBV bottled in June 2017 with a long cork. This is elegance with deceptive power. Focused and tight, this is a bit closed just now, but you can already see how expressive the fruit will become with time. The tannins give fine support to the fruit, but they are ripe enough to allow you to dive in early. They will also allow this to age beautifully. This is a pretty fine LBV—Crasto doesn't make bad ones. It is tight enough so that it is worth being a little conservative in evaluation just now, but it should evolve well in the cellar. Now, look at that price. Traditionally styled LBVs are the best value in Port. This is more interesting than some Vintage Ports in this report. There were 49,427 bottles produced, plus 6,603 half bottles.

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 93 Points (2011)
Vibrant from the color straight through the blueberry-skin tannins, this is brisk and almost blunt in its youthful power, hitting hard on schist flavors, with tannins that are slow to relent. Packed with dark berry fruit, this has the substance and muscular power of many full-on declared vintages. It’s bottled with a driven cork and designed to age.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 91 Points (2011)
This has a floral aroma, with flavors of raspberry, dark cherry and chocolate, layered with rich, spicy notes. Hints of pepper show on the finish, which offers moderate grip. Drink now through 2020.

The Prazo de Roriz is characterized particularly by red fruit flavours — raspberries and cherries and the Quinta de Roriz terroir provides a distinctive minerality and appealing peppery spice. The Quinta da Perdiz vineyard also provides grapes for the Prazo de Roriz. The wine is made for drinking young, but with the potential for developing in bottle for several years.
