Our aim with our Syrah is to give true and complete expression to the Shale & Schist and Granite terroirs in which the vines grow. Approximately half the grapes are whole-bunch fermented and all fermentation is with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 11 months in French oak, 15% new. The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined.

This perfumed Syrah has notes of spicy citrus rind, refined black fruit, violets and lilies. The palate is elegant and restrained with a silky texture balanced by a fresh, natural acidity. The finish is long with supple tannins. Best served at 16 to 18 °C, this wine will greatly benefit from decanting if drunk within the first 3 to 5 years after bottling

Dark-fruited and stemmy on the nose, the 2021 Syrah displays meaty and savory notes with dark cherry and black raspberry before aromas of potpourri with pink peppercorn sway from the glass. Medium to full-bodied, this Syrah is fresh and precise and offers seductive flavors of sausage and cranberry compote before dusty flowers and fine-grained tannins appear over the food-friendly finish. Enjoy with food.

A fresh, polished red, dark and enticing, with a pretty waft of violet on the nose, a deep, savory base note of iron and mineral, plus a lovely range of blackberry paste, black cherry reduction, herbes de Provence and milled pepper and spice accents. The finish is firmed by supple, fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2030.

Inviting aromas of plums, black cherries, blueberries and black pepper. Medium-bodied with slightly tight tannins. Juicy and expressive with good tension. Will open up even more with time, but already very tasty.

Vast stores of plum-pie flavors hide underneath this wine’s florality and grippy grape-skin tannins. Its backbone of acidity keeps it feeling fresh as it lasts on that black-fruit power.

The 2018 Syrah contains 90% whole bunch and was matured for 14 months in 15% new oak, used wood and foudre. It has a lively bouquet of brambly red berry fruit, white pepper, clove and cola scents that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. This is quite a sinewy Syrah, grippy in the mouth, revealing hints of licorice and Japanese nori toward the saline finish. Excellent. (NM) (4/2021)

The nose is flinty with some stone fruit and citrus aromatics. The palate is tight, long, flinty with notes of grapefruit and cinnamon-spiced apples. This wine exhibits a fantastic natural acidity that balances out the texture and mid-palate. A fantastic Swartland white with great ageing potential.

Olerasay 3° Straw Wine Chenin Blanc

The secret to this Straw Wine is harvesting Chenin grapes at normal ripeness levels to capture a healthy acidity. The grapes are dried outside in the shade until they are half raisined, concentrating flavours, acidity and sugar into a super intense, but balanced treat. Fermentation is in old French barrels with indigenous yeasts and can last up to a year. The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined.
