The Glass Collection Syrah has a wonderful dark and rich colour with a slight purple hue to the edge. The aromatics of the wine are intense with floral tones such as Yasmin and violet coming through with white pepper spice and dark berry core. The palate is well balanced and textured with soft round tannins and a pure fruit core shining through.

The 2014 The Glass Collection Shiraz, matured in barrel for 12 months, has a rather high-toned, overtly floral bouquet with strong violet scents that overcome the varietal expression. It's trying too hard! The palate is rounded on the entry and demonstrates more precision and harmony than the Cabernet Sauvignon counterpart, elegant and delivering good structure right on the finish. If the aromatics were toned down, this would deserve a higher score.
