Brilliant red. Potent, mineral-accented red and dark berry aromas are complemented by suggestions of cola, five-spice powder and candied flowers. Silky and alluringly sweet, offering concentrated black raspberry, cherry and rose pastille flavors accompanied by an energizing mineral quality. Shows superb balance and spicy lift on the vibrant finish, which is framed by smooth, harmonious tannins. (JR) (1/2018)

Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir Laurene is intensely scented of cranberries, wild strawberries and raspberry leaves with nuances of underbrush, wild thyme and yeast extract. Medium-bodied, fine, fresh and tightly wound at this youthful stage, it delivers plenty of depth and expression and the long finish is beautifully framed with a commendable texture. (LPB) (1/2018)

A very pretty pinot with currant bush, minerals, underbrush, blackcurrants, dark cherries and bark. The palate is extremely polished with fine tannins, fresh acidity, lots of dark, blue fruit that remains balanced and lithe, and a fruity, minerally finish. Drink now or hold.

Laurène in 2012 gives a distinct impression of a generous vintage, as expressed in the hands of a French winemaker. The red cherry scents are lively and exuberant, leavened slightly by a dusty granular texture. After a day the texture takes on a pepper accent, and the wine feels more harmonious, cool and composed, awaiting further integration from some cellar time.
