Wine Spectator (WS) : 92 Points (NV)
This floral Champagne offers hints of malt and whole-grain toast, along with flavors of date, spiced plum and dried cherry. This shows fine balance and texture, and a mouthwatering finish of freshly ground spices. Drink now through 2016. 1,400 cases imported. –AN

Orange-pink with a delicate bead. Musky orchard fruits, red berries and herbs on the nose, plus a subtle smoky quality. Tangy redcurrant and strawberry flavors are tightly wound and given a bitter touch by anise and cherry pit notes. Youthfully unyielding, with strong finishing grip and a persistent echo of cherry pit. I'd give this some bottle age.

The NV Brut Rose is a richly-textured, bold Champagne loaded with generous ripe fruit. The wine shows excellent up-front intensity and weight, although it could be a little more refined in its personality. This medium-bodied Champagne will make a delicious aperitif but it also has enough stuffing to pair with a wide variety of foods. The Rose is 62% Pinot Noir, 24% Chardonnay and 14% Meunier (roughly the same blend as the Special Cuvee), with the addition of 5% still Pinot juice (2004) that saw three weeks of maceration on the skins. The dosage is 9-10 grams. The high percentage of red grapes contributes to this wine's big personality. This is the first bottling of Bollinger's Rose. The estate is certainly off to a very strong start with this effort. This is Lot: 819801, disgorged around mid-April, 2008. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012.

Pure and powerful, the nose has mandarin peel and floral notes, while the palate is luscious with bright fruit balanced by natural acidity. Succulent fruit sweetness wraps around the crisp acid backbone leaving a long, exceptionally generous finish – the perfect way to finish a meal!

Vasse Felix, Margaret River's founding wine estate, was established by Dr Thomas Brendan Cullity in 1967. Among his first plantings were Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec vines, from which he produced the estate’s first red wine. The Tom Cullity descends from these original vines and represents the pinnacle of Vasse Felix.
