The 2014 Kuyen is a red blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and Petit Verdot from their organic and biodynamic vineyard in El Escorial in Maipo. It matured in French barriques (20% of them new) for one year. Kuyen means moon in the Mapuche language. All the varieties are very integrated with each other. It's quite classical, nicely balanced and approachable. I also tasted the 2010 for comparison and to check evolution; the wine is moving at a slow pace, and I'd say it's in a perfect moment for drinking. 14,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in December 2015.

A classic Chilean potpourri of spiced cherry, herbal plum, tomato, tobacco and earth aromas introduces a fresh palate with just the right amount of creamy, oaky weight. Rooty, spicy cherry and cassis flavors are ripe and generous, while a warm finish tastes spicy and perfectly ripe. Drink through 2020. Editor's Choice.

An intriguing nose with wild berry, herb, spice and white pepper aromas. These aromas carry through to the palate and are complemented with refreshing acidity and fine tannins.

Cauquenina meaning “girl from Cauquenes” is a blend of several varietals. Each lot was vinified and aged separately to create aromas of black pepper, tea leaves, graphite and violet and a full-bodied wine.
