James Suckling (JS) : 93 Points (2016)
This is fragrant and floral with dark berries on the nose. Medium body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh, clean finish. A driven and linear Chianti Classico. The backbone of fresh acidity gives this focus.

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 92 Points (2016)
The temperate 2016 growing season yielded a beautifully perfumed and poised Chianti Classico at Fèlsina. The aromas and flavors are pure Tuscany, with scents of lavender and dried thyme that lead into flavors of ripe black cherry and even savory tomato skin. Notes of pink peppercorns and leafy tobacco emerge with air, adding layers to the fleshy fruit.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 92 Points (2015)
Dense yet rich, this red offers black cherry, earth and graphite aromas and flavors. Needs a year or two to find balance, yet the lingering, tobacco-inflected finish and refined tannins indicate the potential here. Best from 2019 through 2028. 21,666 cases made.

Robert Parker (RP) : 92 Points (2015)
The 2015 Chianti Classico Berardenga is a tight and elegant wine with bright berry notes followed by mineral tones of clay and chalky soil. You really taste those Castelnuovo Berardenga signatures here on the bouquet. The finish carries forward with grace, elegance and determination.

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 90 Points (2015)
Aromas of dark culinary spice, mature berry and a whiff of new leather emerge in the glass. The tightly wound, tense palate offers wild cherry, licorice and clove framed in taut, fine-grained tannins. Give this another year or two at least to fully develop. Drink 2019–2025.

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 90+ Points (2014)
Oct 2016 - The 2014 Chianti Classico Berardenga is fabulous. Fresh, aromatic and salivating with acidity, the 2014 is a super-old school Chianti Classico from start to finish. The intense acidity might come as a shock to readers used to more contemporary, supple wines, but this is a terrific example of what Chianti Classico from Castelnuovo Berardenga is all about. Cherry pit, leather, smoke, grilled herbs, menthol and game add striking nuance throughout. The savory, earthy style that is typical of the estate's best wines comes through loud and clear. In 2014, Fèlsina did not bottle their top Riservas, all the best fruit went into the straight Chianti Classico. The 2014 is a wine to buy by the case and enjoy over the next 20 years. I won't be surprised if the 2014 develops into an even better wine than this note suggests. - Antonio Galloni
