Robert Parker (RP) :

(2021)
Knoll's 2021 Ried Loibenberg Loibner Riesling Smaragd reveals a clear, dense, spicy nose of ripe, concentrated fruit with flinty nuances. Juicy, round and full-bodied on the palate, this has plenty of power, with piquant spice, good length and potential. Tasted at Schloss Dürnstein, Wachau, in September 2022.

This is a showstopper, with effusively floral aromas that are followed by rich and concentrated flavors of apricot, peach and Jonagold apple. It is gloriously velvety in texture, with powerful acidity the keeps all elements intact. Layers keep unwrapping, as you are hit with more nuances of fruit and mineral, that haunt you to the long, lingering finish.
James Suckling (JS) :
96 Points
(2020)
So much mirabelle and grapefruit with delicate notes of wild flowers and Mediterranean herbs. Rich and concentrated, with a compact core and great mineral acidity, underlined by fine tannins. Together they really push the bold finish a long way out. Enormous aging potential.
