Bob Campbell MW (BC) : 95 Points (2019)
Ripe, almost luscious sauvignon blanc with tropical fruit, guava, melon, lime and red capsicum flavours supported by an ethereal texture. A delicious wine, skilfully made from grapes harvested in a very good vintage. (2/2020)

James Suckling (JS) : 93 Points (2019)
Attractive, lime-laced fresh cream and subtly waxy, grassy aromas, too. The palate has attractive passion-fruit and lime flavors with smooth and gently minerally build. Holds long. Passion-fruit finish. Drink now.

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 92 Points (2019)
This Sauvignon is neither flamboyant in its aromatics nor firm in its structure, but quietly understated, like its maker – and it is all the better for it. The pure and delicate flavors include apple and elderflower. The aromatic intensity has had the volume turned down to a pleasing hum thanks to 20% wild fermentation. Light in body, displaying lovely balance and poise. Drinking window: 2020 - 2023

Robert Parker (RP) : 91 Points (2019)
Subtle scents of snap peas mark the nose of the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc. There's passion fruit as well, plus pink grapefruit and a slight crushed tomato-leaf component. It's similarly complex on the palate, where it's medium-bodied, with a strong core of grapefruity acids that give it backbone and length.

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 91 Points (2019)
This wine shows oodles of bright citrus, melon, stone fruit, green tea, tomato leaf and white spice characters. The laser-sharp acidity provides a beautiful balance to the slippery, creamy texture, keeping the fruit bright and tangy.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 92 Points (2018)
A vibrant mix of pineapple, mango and citrus flavors on a smooth, medium body, with plenty of vibrant acidity. Appealing details of orange zest and green apple skin add complexity. Drink now. 5,000 cases imported.

Decanter (DCT) : 91 Points (2018)
The warmest vintage on record in Marlborough, 2018 also saw plenty of rain, including three inches during harvest. This Sauvignon is perhaps the most 'typical' wine in the range, using mostly cultured yeasts and stainless steel for a fresh, zesty Sauvignon with lime and nettle scents. The subtly textured palate is crisp and full of guava, blackcurrant leaf and a touch of passion fruit. There's a nice stony quality on the finish, with good length. (JB) (1/2019)

Jancis Robinson (JR) : 16.5 Points (2017)
Interesting aroma that seems almost a little salty but still has the fresh green-fruits and herbal aromas of Marlborough Sauvignon. On the palate there are riper flavours of melon, even gooseberry (which I rarely seem to find on Marlborough Sauvignon these days) and lovely freshness. There's a very slight grip in the texture but no unwanted phenolics. Tastes dry but leaves my mouth feeling as if there might be a touch of residual sugar? (JH)

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 93 Points (2016)
Kevin Judd, the founding winemaker at Cloudy Bay, makes this wine under his own label from vineyards in the Southern Valleys and Wairau Plain, as well as one on a terrace in the upper Awatere Valley. It’s a citrusy sauvignon in 2016, girded by flinty notes that seem to tighten around all the rich lime flavors. Cool, laser-like acidity keeps it tense and focused; for any roast fish.

Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc 2020
Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc 2020
