Robert Parker (RP) : 94 Points (2017)
The 2017 Eclipse is still fresh and primary, with scents of roses and berry-herb tea. Full-bodied in the mouth yet light in feel, it marries ripe cranberries, raspberries, cherries and garrigue-like notes in an airy voile of silken flavor, then finishes long, with notes of dark chocolate and gentle tannins. This year, the blend is 90% Grenache, 6% Shiraz and 4% Graciano, all aged in previously used wood.

Jancis Robinson (JR) : 17 Points (2016)
Rich but not just fruity – this has dark savoury notes too. Full and heavy but the flavours have lovely nuances of cherry, leather and dried meat. (RH)

Wine Spectator (WS) : 92 Points (2015)
Intense and effusive, with wild blueberry, white pepper and chai tea notes that are focused and precise amid a wall of thick, dense tannins, finishing with additional accents of spice and pepper. Grenache. Drink now through 2030. 750 cases made.

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 93 Points (2013)
Mar 2016 - Saturated ruby. Sexy, highly perfumed aromas of blackberry, smoky minerals and pungent flowers. Silky, sweet and seamless on the palate, showing zesty spicy lift to its boysenberry, blackcurrant and lavender pastille flavors. At once rich and energetic, this blend shows very good clarity on the long, gently tannic, smoke- and spice-accented finish. -- Josh Raynolds

James Suckling (JS) : 93 Points (2013)
February, 2016. Around 80% grenache with shiraz and graciano making up the numbers, all from their McLaren vale vineyard. This has a beautifully sweet cherry and chocolate nose, really attractive bright fragrant red plums too; super bright. The palate has a soft and caressing texture, the fleshy appeal is undeniable. There's a lick of chocolate amid raspberry and boysenberry fruits; tannnis are settled and even. Great balance. Drink now.

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 90 Points (2013)
Drew Noon grows this wine at his estate vineyards in the Southern Vales, all own-rooted, dry-farmed bush vines. It’s 88 percent grenache, from vines planted in 1934 and 1943; the balance is shiraz and graciano from younger vines. It’s not shy in alcohol, but it’s not overripe—a bold, zesty grenache with floral spice and tree-bark notes. The wine’s sweet fruit will complement grilled lamb sausages.

James Halliday (JH) : 93 Points (2010)
Drew Noon's iconic grenache shiraz blend now receives a little support from graciano and cabernet. 2010 denotes one of the greats, with restrained alcohol for this label of 14.6% giving voice to attractive lift of violet perfume, wild berries and mixed spice. Lively acidity and soft, dusty, fine-grained tannins sure up a vibrant, poised and persistent finish.
