Its deep red garnet colour with intense and bright hues is perfectly in tune with his complexe and intense aromas given by bursts red fruits like cherry, and rose hip, followed by elegant notes of lavender. Toasted & tobacco aromas hints at the end reflect its ageing in barrels.

A sttrong introduction in mouth with all the smoothness of juicy fruits is combined with structuring and mature tannins.

A dominant acidity develops a remarkably long persistency.

The winery has been named after the "terraces" situated at different altitudes upon which the vines are grown. Within these unique microclimates, Terrazas de los Andes presents a range of wines that offer great fruit concentration and varietal character. Cheval des Andes is a balanced and elegant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot with important ageing potential as a collector´s wine. Read more

This is very reserved and polished with blackberries, smoke and sesame. Medium body. Delicious, soft finish. Nice transition from the 2017. Drink or hold.

Decanter (DCT) : 91 Points (2018)

A blend of fruit from several Uco Valley vineyards yields a fresh, fruit-driven Malbec with a heady mix of plum and black cherry, smoke and spice, and engaging layers of earth and herb. Fuller-bodied with well-woven tannins, this is defined and focused with an extended spicy mocha-laced finish.

Robert Parker (RP) : 90 Points (2016)

The 2016 Reserva Malbec was produced with estate vineyard grapes from Altamira and Las Compuertas. It fermented in stainless steel with selected yeasts and matured in French oak barrels for 12 to 14 months. The nose is perfumed, floral, fruit-driven, clean and ripe without excess. The juicy palate has a lot of tasty fruit, good acidity and round tannins. It's fruity and easy to drink.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 88 Points (2015)

Lively, with concentrated red berry, cherry and red currant flavors supported by fresh acidity. Asian spice and cocoa powder notes show on the finely textured finish. Drink now through 2019. 90,000 cases made.

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 90 Points (2013)

Full red with ruby highlights. Blackberry, mocha and coffee on the nose, plus a hint of licorice pastille. Silky-smooth and sweet, even thick, but with enticing floral lift to the very ripe flavors of cherry, currant and mocha. Finishes with broad, sweet, building tannins and noteworthy richness. (I should note that an earlier sample of at least equal quality seemed much more tightly wound and primary, and showed a cooler character to its fruit. Its tannins were very suave, but this sample's clarity and energy suggested that it will need a couple years of additional cellaring.) -- Stephen Tanzer

Strapping currant and berry aromas come with a full dosage of toasty oak. This Malbec feels sinewy, with good depth. Oaky notes of toast and blackened spice lend a chocolaty essence to berry and plum flavors, while this finishes with an herbal, spicy aftertaste.
