The 2022 Soldaat wine has a distinct aroma of red cherry and bright pomegranate fruit, which is also reflected in its earthy flavors. The color of this year's vintage is slightly darker but still bright red, and the tannins are softer than usual. The fruit flavor is overall quite expressive, and the soft mouthfeel of the tannins indicates that this year's crop was quite fully ripe with 13% alcohol content. Although it may be tempting to drink it right away, the wine's complexity increases significantly with time in the bottle.
