The estate-grown Riesling Kabinett is made to showcase the traditional, lighter style of Riesling.

It is sourced from cooler, higher-elevation parcels adjacent to the estate’s classified single-vineyard sites.

But it also includes fruit from pre-selections in the top sites, which gives the wine an extra dimension of fruit and mineral intensity. The Riesling Kabinett is light and lovely, with lush exotic fruit aromas and a poised balance of bright acidity and lacy natural sweetness.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 90 Points (2018)
Expressive and graceful, with a vibrant structure, exhibiting notes of bitter orange oil, yellow plum and tarragon. Good minerality midpalate gives this an interesting texture. Offers a focused, mineral-infused finish. Best from 2021 through 2031.

James Suckling (JS) : 93 Points (2017)
The best Kabinett from Robert Weil in many years! Sleek, very bright and only just off-dry with stunning freshness at the crystalline finish.

Robert Parker (RP) : 91 Points (2017)
Based on super healthy grapes that were picked at 85° Oechsle, Weil's 2017 Rheingau Riesling Kabinett is clear, super ripe and concentrated but also coolish, fresh and precise on the nose. On the palate, this is a stimulating juicy-piquant and very elegant Kabinett with clear and healthy fruit, nice grip and delicate salinity on the refreshing finish. A gorgeous, expressive and intense as well as stimulating wine! Tasted two times in August 2018.

Often described as one of Australia’s unsung heroes, Grenache is naturally lighter in colour than Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon but continually provides us with wonderful big fruit flavours. Yalumba is extremely fortunate to have access to some of the oldest Grenache vineyards in the Barossa –with fruit for this wine sourced from vines planted between 1898 and 1973.
