Tim Atkin (TA) : 95 Points (2016)
Three producers in Chablis bottle wine under this label (or a slight variation of its spelling). Generally considered the best bit of Bougros, it’s located close to the river and has corresponding freshness. Flinty and aromatic, this has some of the power and weight of the Grand Cru, but finishes with a swagger of acidity. Sure to age well in bottle, this is a good Chablis to slip into a blind tasting. 2019-26

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 95 Points (2016)
Very pale green-tinged yellow. Classic Chablis scents and flavors of white peach, ginger, oyster shell, iodine and flint. Highly concentrated, tactile wine offering an impression of strong dry extract and a compelling combination of pliancy and energy. A very powerful, structured Chablis with a long, chewy, saline finish. Really saturates the palate without leaving any impression of weightiness. Offers splendid potential. Barrel Sample: 93-95

Robert Parker (RP) : 95 Points (2016)
The 2016 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Cote de Bouguerots has a very intense, quite mineral-driven bouquet with flint aromas developing all the time in the glass as it gains intensity. The palate is well balanced with fine salinité on the entry. I appreciate the vivacity of this grand cru—there is plenty of energy locked in here and an edginess on the finish that is very appealing, notwithstanding the prolonged spicy aftertaste. Superb. Barrel Sample: 93-95

Burghound (BH) : 93 Points (2016)
A super-fresh, cool and admirably pure nose exhibits notes of iodine, citrus, white rose petal, peach, sea breeze and mineral reduction scents. Like several wines in the range I very much like the lovely texture of the energetic medium weight flavors that also possess fine concentration before terminating in an intensely saline-infused, balanced and wonderfully long finale. (10/2018)

James Suckling (JS) : 93 Points (2016)
Lemon butter and almond pastry from time spent in four- to six-year-old barrels. Sweetly fragrant white flowers and a fine minerally thread. This makes a very composed, fresh and sleek impression on the palate. Long and slightly fleshy white-peach finish. Drink or hold.

Decanter (DCT) : 92 Points (2016)
The Côte de Bouguerots’ bouquet of apple, pear and candied lemon definitely shows a touch of oak from its time in used cooperage, lending the wine the illusion of a riper fruit profile and occluding some of its site expression. On the palate the wine is very minerally and taut, with a bright line of acidity and a fine-grained, saline finish. I would love to see this raised in some older barrels, or barrels from a different cooperage, as the raw materials are superb.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 90 Points (2016)
Apple, lemon and stone flavors mingle in this linear white. Though subtle, this remains focused, lingering through the finish. Drink now through 2023. 100 cases imported.

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 94 Points (2013)
Bougros produces rich wines, and this wine comes from the extra-ripe vineyard at the base of the slope. It is generous, giving a weighty character with the flavors plumbing the depths of richness. On top, a beautiful, almost sweet acidity leaves a fresh feeling in the mouth. Drink from 2019.

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 93 Points (2013)
Fèvre owns 15.39 acres of Bougros, almost half the total cru. They separate out a 5.2-acre parcel on the steepest slope for Clos Bouguerots, using the balance for this grand cru. About 60 percent of the wine ages in older French oak casks (averaging six years of age), which helps point up the savory structure of the wine, reading in pale umami notes of miso. The fruit of the wine is youthfully pale as well, powerful in its delivery of chamomile, dried hay and jasmine scents of white grapes. A mouthwatering young Chablis, this is built to age.
