Couleur rubis intense et intense.

Des arômes de cassis et cerise noire avec des notes de violettes, de cèdre et de cannelle. Riche et complexe avec une minéralité, des baies noires et du chocolat noir en finale.

Composé harmonieusement de chacune des cinq variétés bordelaises afin de s'assurer qu'aucun ne domine. Ce vin présente un profil de saveur uniforme et linéaire avec une finition polie.

Robert Parker (RP) : 93 Points (2017)
A blend of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cab Sauvignon, the 2017 De Compostella begins with a dark-fruited and juicy core, with dusty flowers and an herbal edge with oak that is pleasurable on the nose. The palate is fresh and clean with a greenness to it provided by the Cabernets. With a chocolaty sensation, the structure is still tight but is showing well, considering that this was bottled just a week before I sampled it. The finish is structured with focus, power and elegance. Keep an eye out for this bottling, and grab one if you can, as there were only 6,000 bottles made.

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 96 Points (2015)
The 2015 MV de Compostella spent 12 months in barrel before each variety was blended, then another 12 months in barrel including 33% new French oak. It has a beautifully defined bouquet of blackberry, burnt toast, brown spice and light pencil lead aromas that gain intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh blackberry and bilberry fruit, a killer line of acidity and the sense of symmetry that imbues the best MVs I have tasted over the years. It remains one of the Cape’s finest red wines. (NM) (8/2018)

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 95 Points (2015)
Perhaps the best vintage of Compostella to date, this is a blend of 40% Cabernet Franc, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 11% Petit Verdot and 4% Malbec. It showcases a beautiful elegance and herbal edge in waves of cigar tobacco and blackcurrant leaf, with a grounded fruit core of blackberry, plum and cassis. Additional notes of leather and German chocolate cake lend depth and intrigue, while the finish exhibits a masterful evolution between all these components with each sip. Well-structured and superbly balanced, it boasts gripping tannins and ample acidity to frame the ripe fruit. A beauty that should mature masterfully, drink 2023–2033.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 93 Points (2015)
This has alluring aromas of black tea, singed savory, sandalwood and tobacco leaf, backed by a dense yet supple core of warm cassis and blackberry preserve flavors. Light sanguine and iron threads score the finish. Refined, showing sneaky depth and length. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Best from 2019 through 2026. 600 cases made.

Tim Atkin (TA) : 96 Points (2014)
This is the eleventh vintage of this outstanding Bordeaux style blend and it may well be the best yet. Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon based, with some Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec completing the line up, it’s a floral, scented, finely crafted delight, showing stylish oak, filigree tannins and layers of mocha, graphite, green herbs and dark, refreshing fruit. 2019-28, Wine of the Year, Red Blends, 96 Points, TA, 2017
