Wild herbs and bracken with red fruit and darker, more earthy notes. Rose hips, black tea and plums. The palate has a dense, succulent and seamlessly polished, tightly wrapped feel. Long and taut. Needs time. Drink in 2022. Screw cap.

Vibrant and youthful, with dark cherry, violets and a hint of smoke. Concentrated and intense on the palate, with a lingering finish. Classy.

Made with 40% whole clusters, the 2016 Pinot Noir looks to be the finest regular Peg Bay Pinot in some time. Its spicy, stemmy, sappy notes are balanced by bright, fresh black cherry fruit. It's medium-bodied, with a silky feel and a lingering finish that echoes with attractive tea-like nuances.

Appealing, ripe and quite concentrated pinot noir with a complex mix of plum, dark cherry, violet, savoury, forest floor characters. Silken-textured wine with an extraordinary lingering finish demonstrating real power. A supremely elegant wine with an intriguing rustic edge.

Bright, dark red. Perfumed aromas of raspberry, gingerbread and mocha convey partial whole-cluster fermentation. Juicy and savory, displaying a lovely light touch to its musky red berry and spice flavors. Very firmly structured yet pliant Pinot Noir with excellent intensity and inner-mouth lift. A trace of herbal tea can be discerned on the fresh, cool and bright nose that combines notes of cranberry, cherry and plum with those of spice and soft floral nuances. There is good verve and detail to the delicious and attractively textured medium weight flavors that deliver solid depth and length on the ever-so-slightly tangy finale.

Tasted Nov 2012 - Again, darker and spicier and less openly aromatic than the straight Pinot, especially now in youth. Has red fruit on the mid palate. Savoury oak spice. Dense but very fine tannins. Lots of spice. Tight and mineral on the finish. Very firm. (JH)
