The 2018 Chardonnay Estate, matured in 33% new oak with about one-third going through malo, presents a bouquet of mineral-led citrus fruit, reserved at first but opening with time to become quite precise and poised. The palate is well defined with a crisp line of acidity, and fresh and saline toward the finish, which lingers nicely in the mouth. Very fine.

Beautifully layered and complex, the 2018 Chardonnay opens with balanced oak expressions and layers of pomaceous and candied citrus aromas with nuances of white spice and sweet corn. Medium-bodied, flavors of popcorn kernel, cinnamon graham crackers, Meyer lemon, panna cotta and Golden Delicious apple fill the palate. Offering lively acidity, framed with an underlying white spice, the finish lingers with a persistence that doesn't overwhelm but is refreshingly delightful. Bravo, this is delicious.
