Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 87 Points (2017)
This is a vegetal style from the bottom of New Zealand's South Island. Snow pea and bell pepper notes lead the way, with passionfruit in the background. The palate is creamy in feel, but it's balanced by lifted acidity and more fruit-driven flavors.

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 91 Points (2016)
The town of Martinborough is nestled between two rivers on the North Island. Allan Johnson blends this from two estate vineyards on ancient river terraces with opposite exposures—Clouston, just west of town, and East Base, across town. It’s a fleshy wine that builds from pithy lime-zest bitterness to fleshier pear and orange-oil notes as it develops with air. Decant it to bring out the wine’s finesse, and to serve with skate with brown butter and capers.

Robert Parker (RP) : 91 Points (2016)
Made in a more restrained, food-friendly style than the Pencarrow bottling, the 2016 Sauvignon Blanc features hints of fig, melon and leafy black currants. There might even be a hint of stone fruit (nectarine?). Complexity and refinement carry through to the long, silky-textured finish.

Jancis Robinson (JR) : 17 Points (2015)
Tasted March 2018 - Tasted blind. Some suggestion of icing sugar on the nose. Not too aggressively aromatic. And then very comfortable, comforting, well-balanced palate with no rough edges. Very refreshing wine with good fruit and acid. Chalky finish and some persistence.

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 90 Points (2015)
May 2016 - Pale, bright yellow. Aromas of nectarine and spices lifted by pepper, menthol and ginger nuances. Tactile, dry and serious; less expressive but more intense than the Pencarrow version, and showing little of the herbal, gooseberry character of Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs. Dusts the palate with ripe citrus and stone fruits on the lingering finish. A lovely subtle example of the 2015 vintage, but this wine still needs a few months to settle down in bottle. -- Stephen Tanzer

Vibrant and focused, with lime juice, mango and grapefruit flavors that are crisp and linear, gaining momentum on the finish.

Bob Campbell MW (BC) : 93 Points (2013)
Intense, ripe Sauvignon Blanc with nectarine, apple, lemon grass and grapefruit flavours. Full-flavoured wine with good fruity acidity giving a mouth-tingling finish. Excellent food wine.
