Inviting aromas of grapefruit, flint, peach fuzz, wet stone and dried herbs. Medium-bodied with tight structure. Linear and driven with lovely mineral and fresh character. Crystalline. Complex and persistent. Already a pleasure but this will really show its potential with time. Sustainable. Drink or hold. (10/2022)

The 2021 Chenin Blanc Granite comes from the Eikelaan Vineyard on deep decomposed granite soils with deep rooted vines. It has a perfumed bouquet with orange pith, melon, honeysuckle and light lanolin aromas, very well-defined with fine intensity. The palate is very well balanced with a lovely waxy texture, superb acidity, taut and quite linear towards the finish. This does not shortchange you in flavour - quite penetrating on the saline aftertaste. Excellent. (NM) (9/2022)

Fresh, clean and still showing its baby fat, the 2021 Granite Chenin Blanc is aromatic in the glass while offering notions of dusty white cherry blossom, lemon peel and just-ripe peach. Medium-bodied, the wine has plenty of life left in it and will go the distance, so be patient. Delightfully fresh and picturesque, the wine unpacks its complexities across the long-lingering and fresh finish. Give it a try! (AM) (12/2022)

This shows good weight on the palate, with substantial acidity cutting through, linking elements of ginger, peach, heather and lemon curd, accented by touches of verbena and hazelnut. Gains depth and complexity midpalate, where different layers meet and unravel. Finishes with a long salty detail. Best from 2022 through 2032. (5/2020)
