James Suckling (JS) : 92 Points (2023)
Fragrant aromas of candied citrus, guava and orange blossoms followed by nettles, sage and box trees. Medium-bodied, mouthwatering acidity. Vibrant and aromatic.

Bob Campbell MW (BC) : 95 Points (2022)
One of the best sauvignons from the 2022 vintage I have yet tasted. It is ripe, concentrated, pure, and has impressive underlying power. Passionfruit, melon, guava and struck flint flavours are some of the more obvious descriptors. (12/2022)

Wine Spectator (WS) : 95 Points (2022)
Distinctive, succulent and wonderfully complex, with honeysuckle, honey-preserved ginger, creamy lemon curd, ripe mango and floral notes, plus stone fruit flavors on a rich, smooth and mouthwateringly juicy frame. Reveals hints of spices that linger on the long, expressive finish.

Decanter (DCT) : 94 Points (2022)
With 25 years at Cloudy Bay, Kevin Judd was key to the global renown of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Today his Greywacke wines (particularly the Wild Sauvignon) are standard bearers in their own right. This elegant, textural vintage brims with zippy pineapple sorbet, elderflower blossom and green mango freshness, with bracing lime acidity and a creamy passionfruit curd finish.

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 93 Points (2022)
Heady—but not bombastic—aromas of passion fruit, guava and jasmine, with grassy, flinty pungency beneath, pop from the glass. The palate shows lovely texture and balance with a saline, mineral core and a limy finish. This is a classic expression of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from one of its masters.

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 93 Points (2021)
The 2021 Sauvignon from Greywacke is classic yet classy. It is richly aromatic yet not flamboyant, with good purity of fruit: expect flavors of black currant and nectarine alongside subtle tropical fruit and citrus. Due to a naturally low-yielding season, it offers impressive concentration and a ripe, succulent midpalate. The fine, mouthwatering acidity provides length and line on the zesty, passionfruit-infused, lightly structured finish. Delightful in youth, but it will evolve and provide a different Sauvignon experience in five to seven years.

Robert Parker (RP) : 91 Points (2019)
Subtle scents of snap peas mark the nose of the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc. There's passion fruit as well, plus pink grapefruit and a slight crushed tomato-leaf component. It's similarly complex on the palate, where it's medium-bodied, with a strong core of grapefruity acids that give it backbone and length.

Jancis Robinson (JR) : 16.5 Points (2017)
Interesting aroma that seems almost a little salty but still has the fresh green-fruits and herbal aromas of Marlborough Sauvignon. On the palate there are riper flavours of melon, even gooseberry (which I rarely seem to find on Marlborough Sauvignon these days) and lovely freshness. There's a very slight grip in the texture but no unwanted phenolics. Tastes dry but leaves my mouth feeling as if there might be a touch of residual sugar? (JH)

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 93 Points (2016)
Kevin Judd, the founding winemaker at Cloudy Bay, makes this wine under his own label from vineyards in the Southern Valleys and Wairau Plain, as well as one on a terrace in the upper Awatere Valley. It’s a citrusy sauvignon in 2016, girded by flinty notes that seem to tighten around all the rich lime flavors. Cool, laser-like acidity keeps it tense and focused; for any roast fish.

Voici l’un des chardonnays les plus palpitants de Nouvelle-Zélande, évoquant la pêche blanche et le pamplemousse. Elevé pendant 18 mois en futs de chêne français, il offre une bouche bien ronde et un superbe équilibre.
