Impressive richness and concentration of brambleberry and black-cherry aromas and flavors here. The palate unfurls plenty of spicy and succulent fruit flesh with tannins that are nicely wrapped around the finish. This is all class. Robert Parker (RP) : 91 Points (2016)
A bit less intense than the 2015, the 2016 Pinot Noir is nevertheless a lovely drink. A blend of fruit from primarily the Brancott and Omaka Valleys, it shows earthy, dark-fruited notes of black cherries and plums. It's medium to full-bodied, plush and velvety on the palate, with a long, vibrant finish. (JC) (3/2019)

Bob Campbell MW (BC) : 95 Points (2015)
Intense, juicy pinot noir with ripe plum, cherry, blackberry, liquorice and subtle spicy oak. A silken-textured wine, with layers of appealing flavours that linger tantalisingly. Delicious now but should develop well with bottle age. (BC) (5/2018)

Decanter (DCT) : 93 Points (2015)
From several different plots, all of different Pinot clones, the fruit was kept separate and partially whole-bunch fermented with wild yeast, then aged separately in medium-toast French oak, 40% new, for 18 months. It was then blended, fined and bottled. It has a lovely bright cherry nose, followed on the palate by some tarry oak, dark chocolate and fresh red fruits. The oak is dominant at the moment, with a fuller, richer, woodier character than the 2012, but it should settle down to reveal the purity of the fruit beneath.

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 90 Points (2015)
The 2015 Pinot Noir has a very attractive, almost Volnay-like bouquet with blackberry and raspberry fruit and a touch of briar and minerals. This is a serious bouquet that reveals more with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannin, tightly wound black fruit and a taut, linear finish that suggests another year in bottle will do no harm. Very fine. 90+ points. (NM) (11/2018)

Robust and expressive, offering a spicy, campfire edge to the plum and cherry flavors, with shades of herb, spice and cola, backed by muscular tannins. Drink now through 2028. 750 cases imported. (MW) (10/2018)

The 2013 vintage was a solid one for Pinot Noir in just about every corner of New Zealand. This is medium-bodied and slightly creamy-textured, with dark notes of cola, mocha and plum, spiced up by hints of cinnamon and clove. The lengthy finish is supple and velvety. Drink now–2025. (JC) (3/2016)
