Robert Parker (RP) : 94+ Points (2013)
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2013 Shiraz Cabernet Anaperenna is intensely scented of cassis, crushed blackberries and black cherries with hints of cedar, cloves and anise. Full-bodied and full-throttle on the flavors, it fills the mouth with primary black fruits and baking spices, supported by grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long.

Antonio Galloni (Vinous) (AG) : 93 Points (2013)
Lush blueberry and blackberry aromas show an enticing blend of depth and vivacity, with a suave incense nuance adding interest. Intense dark fruit liqueur flavors are supported by zesty acidity and show superb clarity for their power. Strikingly deep and sweet on the long, penetrating finish, which features velvety tannins and lingering blue fruit character.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 92 Points (2013)
Juicy and velvety, with aromatic caraway and Earl Grey tea details surrounding a core of kirsch and plum preserve flavors. Concentrated and generous, showing plenty of focus. Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2028.

James Halliday (JH) : 92 Points (2013)
An 84/16% blend of shiraz and cabernet from vines between 30 and 130yo, matured in 100% new hogsheads (92% French) for 16 months. Deep crimson-purple; it has a volcano of black fruits swathed in dark chocolate, oak largely absorbed by the fruit. The problem is the finish, which is hot, needing a truck of food (char-grilled steak) to put out the fire.

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 95 Points (2012)
These blends are traditional in Australia—they’re just rarely this good. The 26% Cabernet gives great backbone and a sense of restraint to the wine, which might otherwise seem overdone or sloppy. Instead, there’s a blend of blueberry and cassis fruit, Port-like spices and a long, dusty finish. Drink 2015–2025, possibly beyond.

A blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2012 Anaperenna is profoundly scented of creme de cassis, blueberry compote and black cherry pie with hints of aniseed, pepper, chargrilled meat and underbrush. Big, full-bodied and voluptuous on the palate, the generous blend of blackberry and meaty, savory flavors is structured by a solid backbone of firm, grainy tannins and refreshing acid through the very long finish. Drink it now to 2024+.
