Comme toujours sur ce vignoble ce vin offre un nez d’herbes aromatiques avec des nuances de rose et de violette sur un support de fruits noirs. La bouche est suave avec une texture à la fois ferme et sensuelle. C’est un vin qui possède une belle puissance sans jamais tomber dans la lourdeur.

Il s’exprimera pleinement avec le temps.

So aromatic with fresh flowers and rose stems. Shows more whole cluster character than others. Full-bodied with layers of powdery tannins and fruit on the palate creating a gorgeous mouthfeel. Tinges of orange peel. Fine finish. The vines are now 29 years old. Drink or hold.

Decanter (DCT) : 97 Points (2021)

A lovely note of raspberry leaf and peony petal floats above pure and tart notes of crushed blackberry on the nose while black pepper shimmers. The palate is wonderfully crunchy, has echoes of smoke and fine tannins. Red fruit peeks through on the midpalate while the finish echoes hauntingly with peony and pepper. 13 months in 25% new French oak barrels.

Fine-boned pinot noir that was a little closed initially but soon opened up with a few swirls of the glass. Restrained cherry/berry fruit is intertwined with savoury characters suggesting roast chestnut, toasted nut and spice flavours. Very classy wine that needs time to reveal its true potential (8/2022)

Distinctive and elegant, with wild blueberry, huckleberry and cherry flavors that are well-spiced, plus star anise, cardamom, clove and creamy oolong tea accents. Reveals hints of milk chocolate and maraschino cherry that linger on the long, silky finish. Drink now through 2035.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Block 3 is an almost floaty, light red despite its evident density. There's attractive tannic sinew that seems to just hold the wine, as if providing a protective film. I love this or not trying too hard and sliding along. The lengthy finish offers cherry, tea leaf and spice on the persistent finish. (1/2023)

Still marked by a faint stemminess (25% whole clusters were utilized), the 2019 Block 3 Pinot Noir looks to have the fruit weight and richness to eventually absorb that element. Scents of rose hips and black tea are joined by hints of mushrooms and root vegetables to accent black cherry, plum and cola notes. It's medium to full-bodied, rich and loamy, with plush, soft tannins and a long, gently dusty finish. Rating:93+

Block 3—one of Felton Road’s oldest vineyard blocks at around 25 years—is located on some of the estate’s deepest, heaviest soils. There’s power here, and also a fair bit of oak influence, but there’s elegance and complexity in spades. Raspberry and blueberry fruit combine with potpourri spice, vanilla, chocolate and a bit of earthy, Burgundy-style reductive funk. There’s a lovely texture on the palate: silky with bright fruit, chalky acidity and a well-structured line of tannins. A slightly oaky astringency that should dissipate over time creeps in on the finish.

Nez très aromatique et très accessible sur des notes de cerise, de fraise avec des nuances florales et épicées. Ce vin est sans doute le plus ‘’généreux’’ des pinots noirs de Felton Road mais il possède cependant une belle complexité. C’est réellement un Pinot Noir de classe internationale !
