Color: Rich, bright red with intense ruby glints

Nose: This intensely aromatic wine displays black fruit, particularly blueberry and black currant, accompanied by notes of fig and sweet cream pastries. Hints of black pepper and clove add spice to the toasted hazelnut aromas.

Palate:  An intense, robust and vivacious wine with phenomenal structure. Impressive fruit expression together with perfectly ripened tannins lead to a meaty mouthfeel. A long and persistent finish of tobacco leaves and balsamic notes highlight the complexity and handcrafted character of this wine.

James Suckling (JS) : 96 Points (2018)
Blackberries and cherries with dark walnuts and graphite on the nose. Full-bodied with firm and creamy tannins and a long, caressing finish. The quality of the tannins is really impressive here. Fresh and curated texture to this wine. Step-up in quality here. 100% tinta de toro. Lovely to drink now, but will be even better in 2023.

Robert Parker (RP) : 91 Points (2018)
The most approachable of the reds is the 2018 Termes, which comes through as classical, with complexity and freshness and is easy to drink. It's ripe without excess, and the oak is neatly integrated after 16 months in 225- and 400-liter French oak barrels, 20% of them new. It's clean and balanced, with a soft texture and round tannins. It finishes supple and with varietal flavors. 140,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2020.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 91 Points (2017)
This red shows concentration and grace, offering spice-laced cherry and red plum notes infused with anise, espresso and graphite elements. Refined, plush tannins give a nice feel throughout. Drink now through 2028.

Decanter (DCT) : 90 Points (2016)
Dense, dark and uncompromising coconut notes from oak ageing. Clean, bright, full-bodied palate with an unyielding alcohol level. Surprisingly finishes svelte and easy-quaffing.

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 94 Points (2015)
Inky, glistening ruby. Potent, highly perfumed aromas of black raspberry, cherry cola, vanilla, fresh flowers and allspice carry a smoky overtone. Juicy, penetrating red and dark berry, cherry liqueur, spicecake and violet pastille flavors show superb energy, and an undercurrent of juicy acidity provides support. Gently chewy tannins frame an impressively long, sappy finish that strongly echoes the cherry and floral notes. Drinking window: 2023 - 2033

Bodegas Albamar Sesenta e Nove Arrobas Albariño 2020
Bodegas Albamar Sesenta e Nove Arrobas Albariño 2020

This wine comes from Rías Baixas, a renowned wine region in Galicia, Spain, known for its Albariño wines. The region's granite disintegrating sands and proximity to the Atlantic Ocean impart a distinctive terroir to the wine.

The Sesenta e Nove Arrobas is made from a selection of the best grapes from old vines, which produce fewer clusters but with excellent aromatic qualities. The grapes are vinified exclusively in steel tanks to enhance their rich aromatic qualities, and the wine is aged for 18 months in these tanks. The use of indigenous yeasts and a natural approach to winemaking further accentuates the grape's unique characteristics.

Tasting Notes:

  • Color: The wine has a bright and inviting appearance.
  • Aroma: Expect a vibrant bouquet, brimming with mineral notes along with traces of flowers and a variety of citrus fruits.
  • Palate: The taste is taut, fresh, and saline, with a crisp and invigorating acidity. It flows seamlessly to a finish marked by great freshness, making it both savory and vibrant.

Wine Pairing Ideas: This wine pairs beautifully with seafood, making it an excellent choice for dishes like grilled fish, shellfish, or a seafood paella. Its crispness and acidity also make it a great match for light salads and vegetarian dishes.
