James Suckling (JS) : 93 Points (2017)
This is fresh and lively and has intense red-cherry aromas with dark herbal tones. The palate is deeply flavored with a fresh, crunchy red-cherry core. Neatly proportioned tannins. Good value. Drink now.

Robert Parker (RP) : 92 Points (2017)
In the spicy, savory 2017 Pinot Noir Tom's Block, those elements, plus an earthy edge, push the plum and black-cherry fruit into the background. Yet this is still an immensely enjoyable effort, with a plush, velvety texture on the medium to full-bodied palate. Those ripe tannins provide for an expansive yet defined mouthfeel and a rich, lingering finish.

Decanter (DCT) : 91 Points (2017)
Nelson isn't as famous as some other regions in New Zealand for Pinot Noir, but Neudorf is a top name there. Owners Tim and Judy Finn have produced a beautiful wine here, great value for a NZ Pinot at this level. It has some age, but the bright red fruit is still there in abundance, with structure and complexity, and some forest floor character behind. The wine has spent 10 months in French oak, 20% new. Aromatic, focused and linear, it's a food-friendly wine that you'll find it hard to resist pouring another glass of.

Bob Campbell MW (BC) : 91 Points (2017)
A good result from what was not the easiest of vintages. Reasonably soft, round and supple pinot noir with plum, berry, spice and subtle herb flavours. A deliciously accessible wine that's ready to drink. (4/2020)

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 89 Points (2014)
Showing a nice bit of bottle age, this Pinot, from the Nelson region at the top of the South Island, offers up soft attractive redberry aromas along with dried flowers and savory herbal notes. After some time in glass, the fruit feels sweeter, almost confected. The body is light to medium, with a silky texture and a soft grip of tannins but there’s a bitter note that’s a little distracting and feeling of flatness. There’s complexity too, however, and this should continue to age for five years or so.

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 90 Points (2013)
Grown at the estate on a hillside of clay and gravel, this pinot went through a cold soak before fermenting without added yeast. The vines rise above Ruby Bay and the wine feels as fresh as the wind off the sea. It’s reserved, with good depth of fruit balanced by savory notes. .
