Intense gold in colour with green tones, this wine has a bright floral nose with the citrus aroma of grapefruit and a hint of spice. In the mouth it is fresh and well structured with a crisp finish.

Elegant and fruity with tropical notes to the fore.

Not only is it the oldest winery in Argentina, but also has the world’s highest vineyard. Located in the Upper Calchaquí Valleys in Salta in the far north of Argentina, the winery is thought to have been founded by the Spanish Governor of Salta, Nicolás Severo de Isasmendi y Echalar. History of Bodega Colome In 1854, his daughter Ascensión, who was married to José Benjamín Dávalos, brought the first French pre-phylloxera Malbec and Cabernet… Read more

This has perfumed aromas of elderflowers, lemon blossom, green apples and melon. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity and a creamy, supple palate. Balanced and so drinkable, with no bitterness or pithiness. Vegan. Drink now

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 90 Points (2020)
There are subtle notes of jasmine and orange blossom in the nose of the 2020 Estate Torrontés, which was harvested at the end of February before the heat wave at 13.5% alcohol, keeping a low pH and good acidity with grapes from vineyards at 1,700 and 2,300 meters in altitude. It fermented in stainless steel and was kept there for one month before being bottled. The finish is very dry, with a chalky sensation akin to limestone soils and chalk. (LG) (3/2021)

It was bottled in August 2020.

Decanter (DCT) : 91 Points (2019)
A wonderful example of Torrontés from high altitude vineyards (1,700m) in Salta. It exhibits a pale straw colour with a golden hue. Aromas are vibrant and youthful including rose petals, grapefruit, lychees and a hint of ginger spice. On the palate it is intense, forward and expressive, underpinned by balancing freshness. Alcohol at 13.5% is warm but well integrated. Drinking Window 2020 - 2025

Wines & Spirits (W&S) : 91 Points (2018)
This rich, concentrated torrontés grows at 5,577 feet above sea level, where 30- to 60-year-old vines deliver fruit with herbal notes recalling aloe and desert shrubs. There’s shape and detail to its ripe, round citrus flavors, a match for a spinach-and-cheese pie. Best Buy

Tim Atkin (TA) : 91 Points (2018)
Thibault Delmotte sources his Torrontés from Cafayate and from the Colomé estate, such are the volumes required these days. Subtle, floral and refined with graceful aromatics of white flowers and citrus and a tangy finish.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 88 Points (2015)
Offers minerally notes to the green apple and ripe lime flavors, with plenty of floral accents. White pepper details show on the well-structured finish. Drink now. 10,000 cases made.

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 87 Points (2015)
Powdery white-fruit aromas blend with notes of vanilla, lees and briny saline water. This feels fresh and lightly citrusy. Powdery, yeasty melon and tropical fruit flavors finish with notes of lychee and citrus pith.
