Fabulous fruity notes make it immediately pleasant and fascinating. Black cherry, cherry, strawberry, vanilla, cocoa, sweet and well-integrated tannins, intense and rich floral notes. Elegant nose and taste with warm and soft mineral notes.

The Barone Ricasoli 2017 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Colledilà sources its fruit from a site at 380 meters in elevation called Monte Morello with calcareous alberese soils. These conditions give extra focus and linearity to the wine with layered aromas of crushed stone and spice. The wine is equally fruity with blackberry, wild cherry and crushed rose petal. Colledilà is a classic and lasting expression from Gaiole in Chianti.

Red berry, rose, slate and camphor aromas are front and center on this 100% Sangiovese. Linear and elegantly structured, the medium-palate offers dried cherry, licorice and roasted coffee bean framed in fine-grained tannins before closing on an almost salty note. Drink 2022–2027.

Colledilà vineyard is on a geological formation called Monte Morello, also known as Alberese, a limestone soil rich in calcium carbonate and poor in organic matter. Seven hectares in size, it is located at 390 meters above sea level (almost a limit of top Sangiovese) and has a southeastern exposure. Compared to the 240ha of the estate, this is the jewel of the baron Francesco Ricasoli. It's elegant due to its filigranate floral bouquet aromas (rose, violet, iris), supported by darker fruit with great concentration, layered by tar and tobacco earthy complexity. Tannins are velvety and super elegant with delicate yet brilliant refreshing acidity.
