Wine Spectator (WS) : 93 Points (2014)
A lush, concentrated style, this red boasts plum, cassis, tobacco and spice flavors. Fresh and pure, with a dose of serious oak. Mouthcoating tannins and spice notes line the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

James Suckling (JS) : 93 Points (2014)
This is a very well done red from the vintage with blackberry, dark currant and hints of rose petal aromas and flavors. Medium to full body, very fine texture and a pretty finish. Very fine for the vintage. Drink or hold.

Robert Parker (RP) : 97 Points (2013)
Wow. The 2013 Ilatraia jumps right out at you. This is a tremendous effort - I tasted this wine three times blind and it always came out on top. Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) is blended with Petit Verdot (40%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). The complexity and the ever-changing nature of the bouquet is mind-bending. Ilatraia shows enormous depth and sophistication, and it leaves a profound impact. The wine sports deep color saturation with brilliant flashes of dark ruby. The texture is immensely soft, yielding and seamless in its integration. Dark fruit and blackberry is followed by light notes of tobacco, toasted nut and scorched earth. I am in awe of its complexity.

Antonio Galloni (Vinous) (AG) : 93 Points (2013)
Oct 2016 - The 2013 Ilatraia is Brancaia's Bordeaux blend from estate vineyards in Bolgheri. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, espresso and grilled herbs give the Ilatraia its distinctive richness and resonance. There is plenty of Maremma warmth and radiance here. I would prefer to drink this racy, fruit-driven Tuscan red over the next handful of years.

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 92 Points (2013)
Made with 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Petit Verdot and 20% Cabernet Franc, this opens with aromas of mature black-skinned fruit, sunbaked earth and a whiff of cedar. The concentrated, polished palate delivers juicy black cherry, grilled herb, clove and tobacco. Firm velvety tannins provide support.

Voici un vin doté d’une belle structure embellie d’un intense parfum de fruits mûrs et juteux. En bouche, il est riche, bien rond et contient juste la bonne quantité de tannins.
