James Suckling (JS) : 90 Points (2014)
Fresh cherries and healthy, dry tannins make this a very solid and attractive wine. Needs some time for all the subtle notes to emerge, but this kind of youthfulness is rare in 2014 Barolos. Drink after 2020.

Robert Parker (RP) : 90 Points (2014)
The 2014 Barolo is a blend of fruit from six smaller vineyard sites. About 30% of the fruit comes from Castiglione Falletto and the remaining 70% is from Serralunga d'Alba (mostly from the Cerretta and Broglio crus). Across the board, the average age of the vines is 45 years old. Even though the mouthfeel is a bit thinner in this vintage, the bouquet is pleasantly generous and ripe. Blackberry, cassis, tar and spice mesh together with seamless ease.

Wine Spectator (WS) : 91 Points (2013)
The rich, polished profile is generous, with vibrant cherry, plum, vanilla and tobacco flavors. (BS) (12/2017)

Wine Enthusiast (WE) : 90 Points (2013)
Inviting aromas of dark berry, underbrush and baking spice unfold in the glass. The savory palate offers red cherry, licorice and white pepper alongside firm refined tannins. (KO) (5/2018)

Vinous (Antonio Galloni) (VN) : 90 Points (2011)
Azelia's 2011 Barolo is a delicious entry-level offering. Sweet red cherry, plum, spice, kirsch and hard candy are all laced together in the glass. Flashy and succulent yet medium in body, the 2011 is an excellent choice for drinking over the next few years. There is a lot to like here. In 2011, Azelia did not make their RIserva; instead all of that fruit went into the straight Barolo bottling. Azelia's Barolo is a blend of fruit from six vineyards, approximately 70% Serralunga, 30% Castiglione Falletto fruit.

Jancis Robinson (JR) : 16 Points (2011)
Mar 2015 - Just mid ruby with broad orange-tinged rim. Compelling nose of brooding earthy black cherry with a hint of shoe polish and vanilla. Concentrated fruit on the palate with bittersweet, stalky tannins. Not hugely ambitious nor complex but proper Barolo all the same. (WS)

Presque opaque, ce vin a un nez exceptionnellement riche en épices, en fruits et en jeune chêne. Le palais est complexe et raffiné avec une superbe intégration entre les fruits, le chêne et les tannins.
